U HROCHA GLASSWORKS

The famous glassworks in Škrdlovice, founded by Emanuel Beránek in 1940, ceased production in 2008. Today, only the small glassworks U Hrocha, which focuses on tourists is a reminder of the glassmaking tradition in Škrdlovice.

It gives demonstrations of making products from hand-shaped metallurgical glass under the guidance of master glassmaker Oldřich Šimpach. Visitors can create their own product under the guidance of a master glassblower.

Visits are possible in the summer season from mid-May to mid-October and otherwise by appointment.
