FROM KŘIŽÁNKY TO THE MOST FAMOUS GLASSWORKS IN ČESKÉ MILOVY

We start the trip in Moravské Křižánky at the local café. In addition to the usual refreshments on offer, there is also a small display of glassware typical of the local producers. Opposite the village café is a small chapel and the imposing beech tree behind it still remembers the time of the famous Križánky glassworks.

Follow the blue hiking trail towards the Čtyři palice rock formation, one of the dominant features of the local landscape. At the Plaňkovka crossroads we have the option to continue less than 500 metres to the top or to join the Čtyři palice educational trail, which will take us through the entire glassmaking settlement of the former Milovská glassworks built in 1835. Around it a whole settlement with many houses was built, in which hundreds of glassmakers and other craftsmen lived. The master glassmaker's house has been preserved and is now beautifully restored and can be visited during the studio open days.

At the individual stops on the educational trail information is provided about the beginnings of glassmaking in this area, the former glory of the local glassworks and its fate, while the dwellings of glass workers and life in the glassmaking settlement are also shown.
