The date of construction of the first synagogue is unknown. It was located in the Jewish quarter’s square. The buildings and the synagogue were destroyed by a fire in 1790. Therefore, four years later it was completed in the Classicist style. In the first quarter of the 19th century, further building modifications were made and a well was dug to supply water for ritual baths. It was used for religious purposes until the Second World War. It was then used by the congregation of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church and later by the Gardeners' club. Today it is again used by gardeners and there is a juice-making facility inside. Despite numerous modifications and reconstructions, its exterior classicist appearance has been preserved to this day.

Some of the items from the silver church instruments, together with the written records of Batelov, were taken to the Jewish Museum in Prague during the Second World War. Two books of Batelov documents from the 18th and 19th centuries are stored in the Provincial Archives in Brno.
