LUKAVEC JEWISH CEMETERY

Not far from the main square in Lukavec in the Pelhřimov region there is a Jewish cemetery, which was founded in 1724 at the latest.

There was also a Jewish community in Lukavec in the Pelhřimov district. There is a former Jewish street in the village, where there was also an Empire synagogue, which was demolished in 1952.

The Jewish cemetery is located by the pond in the northern part of the market town. It was founded in the first third of the 18th century at the latest, but probably much earlier. There are about one hundred tombstones and a simple mortuary. The oldest datable tombstone is from the year 1725. The access road going through private land was built in 2002.
