The old Jewish cemetery in Nová Cerekev was founded before 1690 about one hundred metres from the synagogue. It also served the Jewish community in Pelhřimov. It contains 138 tombstones with Hebrew inscriptions. Then in 1866 the cemetery was enlarged with a neo-Gothic ceremonial hall, which was returned to the Prague Jewish community before the millennium. The new part is home to 276 tombstones.
Among the well-known personalities buried here are, for example, the local rabbi Yitzchak Pollatschek, rabbi Bohumil Aron from Český Brod and the modern painter Alfred Justitz. The latter belonged to the founding generation of Czech artistic modernism and his paintings conform to the classic values of modern painting.
