The old Jewish cemetery stood in the suburb of Malá Strana on the left bank of the Sázava River and was founded in 1742. Burials took place there until 1886 and then during the Second World War the Nazis took away all 170 tombstones.

The second cemetery was located half a kilometre from the square next to the Catholic church and served from 1887 until the second Nazi occupation. The oldest tombstone in the cemetery dates back to 1760. Since 1996 it has been maintained as a cultural monument. Around the cemetery wall there are preserved slab tombstones from Uhlířské Janovice.
