On the map below you can see the whole circuit as if it’s in the palm of your hand. You can start from anywhere, but thanks to good facilities, accessibility and accommodation options, Bystřice nad Pernštejnem is ideal.
Before you put the pedal to the metal, take a look at the early Gothic Church of St. Lawrence in the lower part of the Bystřice square. Just a short distance from the church you can visit the museum with patriotic, historical and mining expositions - located in the old town hall.
From the square, head down towards the Bystřice River on the EuroVelo 4 long-distance cycle path. Turn right at the House of Children and Young People onto Cibulkova Street.
After less than a kilometre, turn left onto the red tourist sign, and on the way up the steep hill you will pass a fairy-tale alley, ten wooden fairy-tale creatures placed among the trees, or a park of miniatures - about 30 models of castles, monasteries and other monuments from the 14th and 15th centuries.
Continue around The Eden Centre, where you can see the Horácké village museum or the eco-pavilion. The centre offers an introduction to folk crafts and ecology in an interactive and fun way that adults and children alike will enjoy.
Leave the red marked hiking trail at the railway station and follow the cycle path along the tracks and the airport to the road behind the village of Domanínek, where you turn left onto the EuroVelo 4 cycle path. It will take you up to the car park at Domanínský rybník Pond. Here, cross the I/19 road and go down to the pond where you can have some refreshments and, in summer, take a dip.
Follow the yellow marked trail towards Bohuňov to the Pletenice crossroads. Turn right on the green marked trail, cross the village of Písečné to Vítochov. An early Gothic stone church with Romanesque elements towers above the village, offering a beautiful view of the Svratka River valley. In Vítochov, join cycle path 5180 leading back to Bystřice nad Pernštejnem.
TIP: Not pressed for time and in the mood for a little detour? Approximately one kilometre before the end of the route, you can take a short detour to the Karasín observation tower, which offers unusual architecture, an amazing view of the landscape and also indoor seating.
