HřbitovThe cemetery, which was established in the middle of the 17th century, is situated on the slope above the Týnský stream. The first, older cemetery near the château disappeared without a trace. In total, around 11,000 burials took place in the new cemetery. There are almost three thousand Renaissance, Baroque and Classicist tombstones. They are all placed close to each other. Those engraved with the motif of blessing hands belonged to the priestly kohen.
The cemetery also has a ceremonial hall from 1903 with a uniquely preserved interior and a stone ritual washbasin from the beginning of the 18th century. A memorial commemorates 290 victims of the Nazi government and Jewish soldiers. Burials in the cemetery are very rare nowadays, with the last one taking place in June 2019.
The tombstone at the back is somewhat interesting. It is dedicated to the pious Mr Raphael, who lost all his relatives to the plague. To prevent further spread of the disease, he lay down in a grave and covered himself in dirt with a prayer on his lips. The plague came to an end and the people of Třebíč did not forget his bravery.
