CHAPEL OF ST. ANNE IN POHLED

According to legend, the birth of the pilgrimage site of St. Anne is attributed to Jakub Čermák, a scribe of the Cistercian monastery in Pohled, who got stuck in a swamp in the woods while chasing a deer and was helped out of his predicament by St. Anne through prayer.

A spring with supposedly healing waters was discovered at the site of the accident while digging the foundations for the chapel, and today's pilgrimage church was built not far from it in the place of the footprints of the saint herself. The Church of St. Anne is said to have been built according to the plans of J. B. Santini, dated 1766.

There are 14 Stations of the Cross in the surroundings.
